Educational Forum Proposal Guidelines

Regional convention programs involve themes, speakers, fellowship, awards and quality educational forums where we can learn from one another. We encourage chapters to take a leadership role at the convention and submit an educational forum proposal. Not only will your chapter be providing an educational service to your fellow chapters in Illinois, but you will be satisfying one of the Four Star requirements of regional involvement in the Five Star Chapter Development Program.

Advisors, members, officers, alumni and other qualified presenters are invited to submit an educational forum proposal. Proposals submitted by current chapter members and officers require the knowledge, approval and support of a chapter advisor.

The educational forums will be placed into three tracks: Knowledge, Preparation, and Enrichment. It is acceptable if some sessions overlap slightly in theme. Keep in mind that your audience will be new, as well as returning, Phi Theta Kappa members.

The Honors Study Topic for 2018-19 is Transformations: Acknowledging, Assessing, and Achieving Change.

Knowledge sessions will be geared toward members seeking information and knowledge about Phi Theta Kappa and its many programs and opportunities on the international, regional and chapter levels. This theme is ideal for new members, officers and advisors.

Preparation session will be focused toward new officers, executive board members and committee chairs that want to learn how to best prepare for the year ahead.

Enrichment sessions will be geared toward personal development. These are ideal for all members, but they would provide meaningful educational forums for alumni and those moving on to senior institutions and/or joining the workforce.
